The Youth Cancer Trust provides free holidays in Bournemouth for teenagers and young adults (aged 14 to 30) with cancer from anywhere in the UK and Ireland.
To come on a holiday you will need to have agreement from your GP or health professional that you are fit to come. You can come before treatment, during or after... it's entirely up to you.
You can also bring a friend or sibling with you for company or you might like to get your own group of friends together who you met whilst in hospital.
YCT gives you an opportunity to have fun and chill out in a safe and relaxed environment with other people of your own age who understand what it's like to have cancer.
Tracy Ann House is open all year round and takes groups of 8 each week. Groups arrive on a Monday and leave on a Friday.
If you are from London you can be met at Waterloo and there is a regular train service to Bournemouth from Birmingham and other Midland and Northern areas. Those from Bristol, Portsmouth or Southampton and other Southern districts may be collected in the Charity's bus.
Those of 18 and over usually make their own way and some have cars. There is parking in Studland Road close to the house.
Why not arrange your own groups with other cancer patients you've met in hospital?
The school holidays are quickly booked up so if you can come out of season we would really appreciate it. This allows those who are in full time education the opportunity for a holiday.
We can discuss travel arrangements in more detail with you once you have made the right decision to come on a fun holiday with us! We can help with the cost of travel - please talk to us about this.
All meals and refreshments are provided for you and there is no cost to you at all - everything is FREE!!
When you arrive on the Monday, you will be shown your room. You will then have the opportunity to meet the rest of the group and the staff. As a group you can then decide what activities you would like to go on during your holiday. There is no pressure and if you feel unsure about any of the activities you can always talk to us. We are on hand to talk about any of your concerns and want you to have a really excellent holiday!
