Youth Cancer Trust

William Burton talks about his experience of YCT

William and Lyndsay

The Youth Cancer Trust is important to the youngsters that get the chance to have a break from the day to day routine of the illness.

Now that the Trust accepts patients up to 30 this has giving an even bigger importance to the charity and patients. In the past 25-30 year olds had almost been forgotten ( not quite a child but not quite and adult) and thanks to the Trust people like myself now feel wanted rather than forgotten. It has given me a new confidence and picked my attitude up. Before I came down I was terrified of traveling due to my illness and being so far from home. Thankfully this has all changed now and the problem is TRYING TO KEEP ME AT HOME!!

It has given me the perfect lift to deal with hospital, and in September , University again. I will certainly be trying to help the Youth Cancer Trust in whatever way I can for as long as they are providing patients with these important breaks.

At sea and pretty choppy in the Solent

Thrown around the boat - soaking wet but smiling!
